The Karen Lake Trio

Huddersfield Jazz are proud to present the fabulous Karen Lake Trio.

Biography:

The Karen Lake Trio present finely balanced and personal takes on carefully selected jazz standards, as well as a few more unusual tunes.  Informed by a love of Ella Fitzgerald, Madeleine Peyroux, and Melody Gardot in particular, Karen Lake's rich vocals and poised delivery are framed by Dan Johnson's eloquent and flowing guitar work, and pianist Jez Matthews' thoughtful and melodic playing. 

Active on the Sheffield and Derby jazz scenes for 20 years, the trio have between them played at venues across the UK, as well as sharing the stage with musicians including US musicians Sheryl Bailey and Joe Giglio, and also Dave O'Higgins, Pat McCarthy, Gary Reader, Rosie Brown, and Pete Lyons.
