Come join us on Sunday 15th December as we finish our 2024 Autumn & Winter season with a bang as we welcome, for the first time to Huddersfield Jazz, the fabulous Yorkshire Gypsy Swing Collective.
Biography:
This gypsy jazz supergroup brings together top musicians from across Yorkshire, inspired by legends Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli of the "Quintette du Hot Club de France." They honor Django and Stephane's spirit while pushing gypsy jazz into the modern era.
The band features Lewis Kilvington and Martin Chung on guitars, James Munroe on double bass, Derek Magee on violin, and Christine Pinkard on clarinet. Recently spotlighted in Guitarist magazine for their take on Django's legacy, they promise fast licks, burning ballads, and even some Latin-inspired pieces.
